Breakfast is quite literally, breaking the fast. When we wake in the morning, our blood sugars are low. In order to have the energy, focus and everything else we require for the day ahead, a nutritious breakfast is crucial.
For anyone struggling with over-eating or making less-than-ideal food choices, breakfast is your best friend so please don’t avoid it, or worse still, be tricked into thinking that skipping breakfast means a healthy weight.
Skipping breakfast looks like this…fogginess, dulling of the senses and often very distracting hunger. Your body sends signals to your brain to locate food immediately. It’s food with super-fast converting energy that you’re essentially forcing your body to require and consume at all costs. Most often this looks like a sugary over-processed muffin or coffee by the truckload!
It doesn’t need to be this way. Instead of this, how about feeling clear and energised upon waking? Feeling excited about enjoying a delicious breakfast and seizing the day ahead. Breakfast is the difference here.
Living in our modern world, time is of the essence so let’s make breakfast as simple as possible. My mantra with all food: simple, delicious & nutritious.
